Talk title: Diversity of innate immune response against bacterial pathogens in fish
Bacterial infection is a major concern for maintaining economic sustainability in natural and farmed fish; it results in high mortality and economical loss in aquaculture. Although fish are constantly exposed to risk of bacteria, fish could keep in shape to act immune mechanisms against bacteria. In this time, we will introduce the responses of the immune-related genes in Francisella noatunensis subsp. orientalis (Fno)-infected Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) analyzed by RNA-seq. Based on previous studies showing the transcriptome of bacteria-infected fish, we will also present a comparative study of the immune responses of fish to bacteria.
